Course overview:

Giving feedback can be one of the most valuable things we do at work – and also one of the trickiest. It’s easy to overthink it, put it off, or deliver it in a way that misses the mark. This session is here to help you feel more confident, more prepared, and more skilful when it comes to having honest conversations that actually make a difference.

We’ll cover what to do before the conversation – getting clear on your message, choosing the right mindset, and structuring what you want to say. Then we’ll move into how to deliver the feedback – staying grounded, reading the room, and adapting to how the other person responds.

And most importantly, you’ll get to practise it. We’ll play out real situations with live feedback and coaching from the facilitator, so you can try out what works and build your confidence in the moment. This isn’t just theory – it’s learning by doing.

Here’s what the session will cover:

Welcome & mindset check-in
We’ll kick things off by connecting as a group, surfacing what makes feedback hard, and shifting into a mindset that helps, not hinders, effective conversations.

Preparing for feedback
You’ll learn how to get clear on what you want to say, shape your message with care, and choose a structure that helps you stay on track when nerves kick in.

Giving the feedback
Once you’ve prepped, it’s time to deliver. We’ll explore how to stay present in the moment, manage emotions (yours and theirs), and flex your approach based on how the other person reacts.

Practice with live coaching
Here’s where it all comes together. You’ll get the chance to practise giving feedback in realistic scenarios, with the facilitator playing out the other person (they do the acting so you don’t have to!) and offering feedback to help you build your confidence and skill.

Close & takeaways
We’ll wrap up with key insights, practical takeaways, and a chance to reflect on what’s shifted –  and what you’re going to try next time a feedback moment comes up.
